This turn saw a sudden drive by the SMIRS on both the BASH and POTW empires. Combat ensued between the SMIRS and the POTW. Both sides take losses. Battle report below. The BASH stared unaBASHedly at the smear maneuver the SMIRS just performed in Lalande. The Rhone stay quietly in their corner of the cluster, shuffling TFs around like the cup-and-ball trick. Altair now has the largest stockpile in the game with 66 BP. More surveys are conducted (I believe the last uncharted stars are now explored), and the SMIRS gain another high-value system. The Cluster cranks up to TL2 next turn.

Location: Canopus-7
Result: The SMIRS TF5 dashed back to Canopus to kick out the POTW TF5 – only to find the new defenders a wee bit stronger than anticipated. SMIRS TF5 attempted to escape but was caught dead to rights numerous times. Canopus continues to be occupied by the POTW, but remains contested.

Location: Antares-10
Result: SMIRS TF1 made a bid for the system of Antares, counting on weak (or no!) defenders. They were met by TF10, which put up a good fight. But in the end, after three rounds of fighting, TF10 was unable to convince the enormous attacking SMIRS force to leave. SMIRS TF1 remains in-system, while the POTW TF10 remains expand in space. Antares is now contested.
